Hellyeah to Use Dimebag Darrell Tracks for Cover of Phil Collins’ ‘I Don’t Care Anymore’

Hellyeah are building to the release of their new album Unden!able and there is one guest contribution that is certain to get a lot of attention. According to guitarist Tom Maxwell, the late Dimebag Darrell will have some previously recorded tracks worked into their cover of Phil Collins' "I Don't Care Anymore."

While Phil Collins may not be the first act that comes to mind for hard rocking acts, it should be noted that the angst-ridden heartbreak song from Collins' 1982 solo effort Hello, I Must Be Going is full of attitude and featured the drummer's hard hitting beats, which could make for an interesting rocked up cover. That's something that Maxwell says appealed to Vinnie Paul and Dimebag Darrell, who took on the song years ago.

Maxwell tells Springfield, Ill. station 97.7 WQLZ (in the video above), "Dime and Vinnie recorded that track years ago and we went in and dug up his tracks and put it on the record, man. So we've got a little Dime ... Dime's on our album." Maxwell insists that the band put their own stamp on the song, so expect a rocked up rendition.

The Unden!able album is due June 3 via Eleven Seven Music. The band recorded the effort at The Hideout Recording Studio in Las Vegas with producer Kevin Churko.
