"Hail to the King" the animated series created by Avenged Sevenfold has been released and you can see the whole thing right here. It will only take you about 15 minutes to watch the whole series which serves as a prologue and back story for the band's upcoming video game, Hail to the King: Deathbat, which is due out in early 2014.

The series debuted on Machimina's HappyHour channel on YouTube, who had approached A7X with the idea of doing an animated series. Frontman M. Shadows explained that "They came to us and said, 'Well, do you guys want to do a series?' And we didn't really have much interest, to be honest, 'cause we didn't really see the tie-in.

"But then, you know, they found out we were doing a game and said, 'Well, why don't we kind of tell the story before the game happens?' Sometimes it's hard to tell a whole back story in the beginning of a mobile game. It's just something for fans to watch. You know, it's 15 minutes long, just a thing to sit back and eat some popcorn and watch a series. It's just kind of all in good fun."

The animated series was directed by Jon Schnepp, producer of the Adult Swim animated show Metalocalypse, and after watching I will defiantly be getting the game the second it hits the app store. I just wish the series had a few more episodes in it.

Both the game and animated series center around the band's mascot, the Deathbat, and how he came to be what he is. The band even recorded seven new songs for the game as well as including plenty of art work for die hard fans. You can see the trailer for the game at the very bottom.
