Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose doesn't necessarily have the best reputation. Parting ways with multiple band members, forcing audiences to wait for hours at live shows and multiple public outbursts have labeled Rose as an unlikeable loose cannon. However, GN'R road manager Del James has nothing but great things to say about Axl.

In a new interview with Sirius XM's Sports Zone, Del James, who has known Axl for 30 years, defended the GN'R legend. “If the guy was as difficult as people say he is, no one could have stuck it out that long,"James said. "There’s no amount of money worth that big of a headache. And the reality is, the truth of the matter is, whenever my kids needed something and I couldn’t afford it — whatever it was, a medical bill or whatever — he was the first one: ‘Yeah, I got it. And don’t worry about it.’”

Along with Axl Rose's generous nature, James also spoke about the musician's reliability as a friend. “He’s the guy who you call if you make a mistake and need to be bailed out at 4 o’clock in the morning," James claimed. "He makes sure you’re taken care of, and he looks after his better than anyone else I can think of.”

Guns N' Roses guitarist Richard Fortus also defended Axl Rose recently, speaking of the the singer's decision to not reunite the classic GN'R lineup. "He won’t whore himself out, he won’t do anything for business or money; it’s just about the music," Fortus said. "And he won’t defend himself in the press, because he doesn’t think it matters; it’s just about the music — that’s all he cares about."

It should be noted, however, that Axl Rose appeared in a Budweiser commercial that aired during the 2014 World Cup.
