Green Day Lyrics for ‘Amy’ [VIDEO]

Green Day’s upcoming albums are getting a lot of buzz. Uno! will be the first album released, with “Oh Love” as the first single from that album. Now we’re getting a peek at one of the songs from Dos!, a number called “Amy.”

Though Green Day never met Amy Winehouse, the song is a tribute to her. Billy Joe Armstrong said:

It's interesting because if you think about ¡Dos!, it's a party record and so at the end of it maybe 'Amy' kind of comes across as the consequences of the party. I just thought her music and her taste in music was so connected to old soul music and the original Motown and Otis Redding and Sam Cooke and things like that.

The recording below is rough and the lyrics are approximate, but it gives you a good sense of what the song sounds like. Uno! hits stores on September 25^th, Dos! arrives on November 12^th, and Tre! comes out January 14^th.
