"Voting is the foundation stone for political action.” -Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Election Day is tomorrow and while it seems that all the attention is on the Presidential election, here in Wichita Falls there are many local elections that will have much more of an effect on the average citizen. It's in these races that every vote truly matters.

Local elections are where the average person can truly make their voice be heard. One of the biggest local elections this year is for the Mayor of Wichita Falls. Our options on the ballot are both city councilors looking to make the move to Mayor. District 4 Councilor Tim Ingle is running against District 1 Councilor Stephen Santellana.

Both candidates recently sat down with Mike Hendren on our sister station News Talk 1290. They outlined their goals for the city and plans to make them happen. They also addressed some controversies that have been brought up during the campaign process. You can watch Santellana's interview above and Ingle's interview below and hopefully decide who you want to lead our city into the future.

There are a lot of big things possible in Wichita Falls and a lot of scary threats to that future and it's up to us to decide who we want leading the charge. Educate yourself and make the decision you think will be best for our future.

For all other local election information and any voter related information you may still need, check out our voters guide. News Talk 1290 will have wall-to-wall election coverage beginning at 7pm on Tuesday night. They will announce and analyze the results of all of our local elections and will have coverage from Chad Hasty, Robert Snyder, Robert Pratt and Ken Corbin on our regional and state election returns from Lubbock via our sister station KFYO. We will also publish all local, regional, and state results online.
