George and Austin – Humane Society Pets of the Week!
I find that I indulge my cats, probably more than I should. When one is sitting in my lap, I’ll wait to get a drink even though I’m thirsty. I’ll also pass on phone calls or texts during that time if my phone isn’t within arm’s reach. I would hate to bother the cat, after all. I also find that instead of scolding my precious fuzzballs when they want to use me as a jungle gym at 4:00am, I’ll reach over and scratch them and give them the attention they’re after. When I’m in the middle of making lunch and I have one of them underfoot in the kitchen, secretly plotting to knock me over so they can get closer to taking over the planet, I understand it’s really just out of affection (or so I’ll tell myself), but really they’re after treats. Which I then get for them. Some pets don’t have a guardian to pester, and that’s where you come in.
The Humane Society shelters pets, gets them the care they need, gives them the love they’re craving, and does their best to place them in permanent homes. Whether you’re looking for an lazy dog who prefers a quiet walk to play, or a cat who chases toys, chances are the Humane Society will have your perfect match.
May I present our pets of the week. If you’d like to see them in person or get more information on these pets or any other pets that the Humane Society has, check them out online here or call 940-855-4941. They’re located at 4360 Old Iowa Park Road in Wichita Falls.
George is a medium sized, young, male, short hair cat. He loves watching the “cat channel” through the window, and won’t pass up on the opportunity for a scratch behind the ears. He’s neutered, heartworm tested and on preventative, up-to-date on shots, and microchipped. If you’re looking for a cat who’s fairly laid back but still likes to play and have fun, stop by to meet George today!
