Forecasters are calling for blizzard conditions in West Texas, the Texas Panhandle and portions of western  and central Oklahoma.  Most of Texoma will see a combination of sleet and freezing rain overnight Saturday and into Sunday with precipitation changing to all snow Sunday into Monday.

Ice accumulations of up to 1/2 inch are possible and snow accumulations of up to 6 inches are likely, especially across western sections of our listening area.  TxDOT officials are mobilizing, but travel is discouraged as near white out conditions will likely occur with the blowing snow.  Ice accumulations on the roads will make travel hazardous for much of Sunday afternoon and Monday.

A winter storm watch remains in effect for much of our listening area thru 6 pm Monday.  Click here for the latest weather updates.  You can hear weather updates twice each hour from KAUZ on News Talk 1290 at 5 and 34 past the hour.
