Big news for the former MSU Mustang.

Eric Dawson played for the Midwestern State Mustangs from 2005-2007. He earned several honors while at the school and was a second team All-American. He also helped the Mustangs reach a conference title and a regional appearance in the NCAA. He led all of college basketball with 23 double-doubles (points-rebounds) in 2006-07 and remains the program's career leader in blocks with 170.

Dawson's career since leaving Midwestern has taken him all over the world. He has played in China, Dominican Republic, Iran, Japan, Korea, Puerto Rico, France, Philippines. He has also made an appearance in the NBA D-League, playing for the Austin Toros right here in Texas.

Eric has made the roster for two NBA teams so far, the Atlanta Hawks and San Antonio Spurs. He can add another team to that list, the Utah Jazz. He is currently competing against three other individuals for a roster spot to make the teams training camp. Good luck Eric, all of Wichita Falls is wishing you luck.
