Until now being overweight has been viewed as unhealthy, but thanks to brand new study you may want to start packing on some extra pounds.

The new study, released by the Mayo Clinic, is claiming that while obese people may be at a higher risk for heart disease, they have the lowest rate of death from such diseases.

In fact, being normal or underweight can actually increases your chances of dying from a heart disease, although you're still less likely to have a heart disease in the first place.

So how is this possible? Well the scientist behind the study couldn't figure that part out, although they did provide several theories.

For starters, they say it may be like that because overweight people seek out earlier treatment for heart disease since they are at a higher risk already or it may be that genetically fat people also have genetically stronger hearts.

Or maybe, and this is my favorite, being obese simply helps you fight heart attacks, although there is no explanation on how that works.

But before you run down the street to the nearest McDonald's, keep in mind that being overweight could come with many additional health problems not just heart disease. So think twice about ordering the second helping of fries.
