Fired over tape? Really? No for real, this is why this guy is no longer employed?

Stealing is stealing in the workplace. Some of us have taken little things home before, maybe like a pen or an envelope. This guy decided to take something home with him from work. Some scotch tape, that was valued at about ten cents. The problem is he is a cop.

He took the scotch tape from a crime scene and that happened to be someone's house. Kaleb Broome was the one who took the tape from the house. Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said Broome then took pieces of the tape and used it to stick an ID to his dashboard so he could write up the report about the incident. The sheriff says his partner told him not to take the tape, but Broome did it anyway. The other officer reported the incident to his superior officer.

"When you hear and see something like this you just shake your head and say 'why'," Lott said. "There's really no explanation, no reason, except you just had someone who didn't deserve the badge." If Broome is convicted he could face a year in jail. Yup, just for stealing some tape.

Before you go feeling bad for this guy, he also defaced a poster in the victim's house. There was a poster up of the continent of Africa. Broome allegedly took a sharpie and circled Nigeria, some are speculating his way of making a racial slur to the people living in the residence.
