The South by Southwest Music Festival has confirmed that Dave Grohl will be their keynote speaker at their 2013 event. Best known for his music with Nirvana and Foo Fighters, Grohl will speak on Thursday, March 14th at the Austin Convention Center.

Grohl has always stayed humble about his success, recently stating:

I don't know what it is, but it keeps on getting better, you know. And as it all sort of grows and changes, the four of us just stay the same, and we look at each other every time something happens, like a Grammy nomination or a big show selling out, we look at each other and we're like, 'Can you believe that? Isn't that nuts?' 'Cause we don't feel any different, you know.

There's also talk that Grohl may be premiering his documentary Sound City: Reel to Reel at the festival. Though that is a rumor at this point, it would tie in well with the festival.

SXSW features music from hundreds of musical acts performing on dozens of musical stages around Austin. It's also become a medium for many musical artists to premiere their side projects such as books and films.
