It's Dancing For The Stars time again in Wichita Falls!

Not only is Dancing for the Stars one of the most unique and exciting events in Wichita Falls, it's also the largest fundraiser of the year for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wichita Falls. The event is a collaboration between BBBS and the Small Business Development Center at MSU to bring awareness to the importance of mentoring in our community.

The Dancing for the Stars event pairs 12 local celebrity dancers with 12 local dance instructors. Each dance team will perform an original dance routine to the song of their choice.

The overall winner is decided by the dance team who raises the most money. The public is encouraged to vote for their favorite dance team in the form of a donation. Voting is open now and you can vote as often as you would like and for more than one dance team. Each dance team has a goal to raise $2,500 before the event. It's the third year for Dancing for the Stars in Wichita Falls, and with such an overwhelming response for tickets this year, the event had to be moved to a much larger venue than previous years. In 2014, dancers raised almost $89,000, and in 2015, they raised an astounding $150,000.

"We are so grateful to our dancers, instructors, emcees, judges, volunteers, sponsors and media," said Kem Hogue, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters Wichita Falls. "All are working hard to make sure Dancing for the Stars is the performance of the year!"

Dancing for the Stars will take place on February 19 at the MPEC and is open to the public. Cocktails will be served at 6:00 PM and dinner will begin at 6:45 PM. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here. Tickets are $120 per seat or $960 for a table of eight.

Judges for this year's event are Deanna Watson, Chance Harmon, Dr. Paul Hurst and Reggie Milam.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is an organization that helps local children realize their potential through one-to-one relationships between an adult and a child. The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters is to develop productive citizens one child at a time, but they can't do it without you.
