In my drunk stupor yesterday, I thought a lot of the players were bleeding. Yeah I am a moron, I know. Turns out the the Cowboys and Jaguars were honoring a London tradition when they took the field.

Veterans Day is tomorrow here in America. Over in London they have Remembrance day on the same day. The NFL did their special Salute to Service this past weekend. I saw portions of the Fox pregame show was being broadcasted from a military base in Georgia. Well the NFL decided to take part in the London tradition of wearing a poppie on a uniform during the Cowboys versus Jaguars game.

The red poppies are symbolic of the bloodshed in the fields of Flanders in Belgium, where the poppies bloomed where some of the bloodiest battles occured in World War I. The NFL said it will be auctioning off some of the players uniforms from the game. 100 percent of proceeds donated to the Poppy Appeal. The money raised by the Poppy Appeal supports the Legion’s work for the Armed Forces community."

Glad to see the Cowboys went to London and got a win. Who knows if the NFL will put a team in London, but I was glad to see a good portion of Cowboys Nation in the stands. Listen to all Dallas Cowboys games on NewsTalk1290.
