A little mile high afternoon action for your Sunday.

Since Newstalk 1290 is your official radio home of the Dallas Cowboys. Time for this week's Cowboys fun facts about the Denver Broncos. You may remember the last time these two teams got together it was a high scoring affair. It was the most exciting game I have watched as fan where the Cowboys lost. If you love offense, this game was for you. It was a 51-48 shootout.

The Denver Broncos are one of the few teams in the NFL that have a winning record against the Cowboys. The teams have met twelve times throughout the years, with the Broncos winning seven of those games. However, the Cowboys did win the first three games against the Broncos in this series.

When we think of those classic Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving games, many of us think of those NFC East rivalry battles. The Broncos have actually come down to Texas for two Thanksgiving games, but the Broncos showed up hungry. They beat the Boys on both of those occasions in 2001 and 2005.

The Cowboys Broncos have faced each other in the Super Bowl as well. Super Bowl XII on Jan. 15, 1978. If you know your Dallas Cowboys history, you know the Boys won this one. Giving Dallas its second Super Bowl victory with a 27-10 win. Sadly this would be the last Super Bowl victory for those amazing Roger Staubach teams. The next season they would be eliminated in the divisional round to the Rams.

So you know the Cowboys don't have the greatest record against the Broncos and it gets worse in Denver. The Cowboys have only won twice when playing in Denver. Many players complain of the high altitude when playing in this city, but that is something that is a big home field advantage for players not used to it every day.

So what happens if the Cowboys win this game on Sunday? Well that means the Boys are 2-0. The last time that happened was in 2015. If that does happen, it will be the 26th time the Cowboys have started the season 2-0.

It will also snap a five-game losing streak against the Broncos. It has been awhile since the Boys beat the Broncos. It was actually the year of the last Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl victory. 1995, the Broncos came to Texas Stadium and lost 31-21. Crazy to think the days of Aikman, Irvin and Smith were the last victory against this team. Hell, the Dallas Cowboys hadn't even practiced in Wichita Falls yet and that seems like forever ago.

The Cowboys can get 100 wins against the AFC with this win as well. Not counting Super Bowl victories against the AFC, this would be the 100th regular season win against the opposing conference. The Cowboys wins against the AFC is more than anybody else in the NFC.

The Cowboys destroyed the AFC last season going undefeated against the AFC North. Since that was the only AFC opponents they faced last season, they could keep a winning streak going against the conference with a victory Sunday. The first time they have had a streak like that was in the 2013 to 2014 seasons.

That's it for this week. Join me next week as we break down the Cardinals game. Who actually used to be a former NFC East rival of the Boys. Remember, tune into all Dallas Cowboys games on your radio on Newstalk 1290 here in Texoma.
