A clown has been wandering the streets of Northampton for the past few days, and not everyone is excited about it. Looking very much like Pennywise from Stephen King’s It, the clown has been scaring people and being creepy in general. The first appearance of the Northampton Clown was on Friday the 13th, and since that time a Facebook page has cropped up telling people more about this visitor who is unwelcome by some.

At the time of this posting the page had nearly 30,000 “likes,” and it tells a story of a guy who just wants to be noticed. For those who find someone climbing out of a drain, he’s getting the attention he should expect from such activities. Climbing in those drains has apparently not been good for his wardrobe, with the clown posting:

So glad there's a picture from last night. I didn't wear my clown shoes as they've got holes in them from all the drains i've been climbing into...I was in Abington yesterday before it rained but there seems to be no pictures so i weren't spotted . I'm also "not" apart of Dr Fright's Night for those interested but it seems to be promoting them and others which is great! I "haven't" been knocking on houses and asking to paint window sills!? I may have to change my appearance as the actor in that 'Local Clown' film has the same costume as me. If what i am doing does get too much for people, I will have to stop.

Another post shows that people have started rumors about him, stating:

Too much hate not enough love . No, i don't have a knife on me!, thats just stupid rumours spread by stupid people. I'm also 'not' on twitter as it confuses the heck out of me. However, i might go for a jog around that pond in Abington park later as i'm really unfit... See you around! Beep Beep!

He also addresses the fact that some people have a real distaste for clowns, writing:

For those of you with phobias and fears, you don’t have to like and comment on this page. See you around soon.

What would you think about a creepy clown scaring you at night? Do you think what he’s doing is okay, or should he be stopped?
