Congrats are in order for Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor, who received the "Legend" Award at the recent Metal Hammer Award Show in Berlin.

Taylor received his honor from U.D.O. singer Udo Dirkschneider. The singer stated, "I'm very lucky to be able to do what I do, but I wouldn't be able to do this without the fans, without you guys, so thank you so much. I really appreciate it. And honestly, I wouldn't be able to do this without the people that I grew up listening to, like Udo, like Metallica, like Guns N' Roses, so I followed in really good footsteps, and I hope I can keep doing it for a few more years."

Having two thriving bands definitely helps Taylor remain an awards show favorite. Earlier this year, the singer and his band headed up the Mayhem Festival while promoting their 'Antennas to Hell' greatest hits collection. Meanwhile, Stone Sour are ramping up to their 'House of Gold and Bones - Part 1' disc, due Oct. 23. As the title suggests, it's the first of two releases with the latter half expected in 2013.

Stone Sour recently bowed out of the Desert Rising and Rock Vegas shows while guitarist Jim Root recovers from surgery, but Taylor intends on honoring both shows as a solo artist.
