Last month, Chris Cornell confirmed he would release his fourth solo effort, Higher Truth, this fall. Now, the Soundgarden frontman has shared the forthcoming album’s official release date, which will be Sept. 18.

Brendan O’Brien (Pearl Jam, the Killers) -- who also worked on Soundgarden’s fourth full-length, 1994’s Superunknown -- will act as producer on Higher Truth. The album follows Cornell’s 2009 solo album, Scream, and Soundgarden’s 2012 comeback LP, King Animal.

The Soundgarden leader has also announced a string of corresponding North American tour dates, which will launch shortly after Higher Truth’s arrival on Sept. 20 in L.A. and culminate on Nov. 2 in Austin. The North American leg of the tour will then be followed by a run of dates in Australia and New Zealand. Check out a complete list of the North American stops below.

According to Cornell’s website, the sets will feature a career-spanning collection of his songs performed in an “unplugged, up-close and personal setting.” A portion of ticket proceeds will benefit the Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation, which works toward combatting child poverty, homelessness and abuse.
