When I think of heavy metal in the 90's the first band that comes to mind is Pantera. While the music industry claimed metal was dead, Pantera was steadily filling arenas and flipping a big ol' middle finger to the doubters and now we get our first glimpse at life behind the scenes with bassist Rex Brown's upcoming memoir 'Official Truth, 101 Proof: The Inside Story of Pantera'.

I couldn't help but be moved when I watched the trailer for the first time as I think back to everything that was and what could've been. Pantera holds a special place in my heart and I treasure every single memory I have of the band. And man do I have a lotta memories of the band. From watching them live to laughing my ass off at their home videos, hanging at Vinnie Paul's house trying not to geek out and go total fanboy on him, drinking Black Tooth Grins with Dime at The Clubhouse and a million more.

Time to create some new memories with Rex's memoir and not to mention,  Phil Anselmo's story is in the works as I write this.

'Official Truth, 101 Proof: The Inside Story of Pantera' hits the shelves March 12 via Da Capo Press.
