When I go looking for morons in the news, I'm never dissapointed. People act without thinking, and I tip my hat to those people. Without them, who would we laugh at? Well, I suppose I would laugh at my friends, but still...

A burglar in Maryland this week wasn't that smart about getting away with his crime. While robbing a house, Cody Wilkins was surprised by the homeowner's son coming home. Wilkins fled through a window. Here's where the burglar messed up:

The son called police, who searched the home and found a cell phone charging in an electric socket. The phone led police to Wilkins.

Now Wilkins has been charged with other burlaries in the area and he's being held on a $1 million bond.

It's bad enough that Wilkins was stealing from homes to begin with, but what was he thinking? I've never burglarized a home, but chances are that if I was doing a crime like that, I'd probably want to get in and get out as quickly as possible. I wouldn't be taking the time to find an electric socket to charge up my phone. If I didn't have the foresight to see that my cell was going dead, I'd just have to wait until later.

Yet it's because of mistakes like this one that I can read about it later and laugh. Yay for morons in the news!
