I loved the original “Fright Night”. It mixed comedy with some genuinely scaring ideas. Seriously, who would you call for help if you thought a vampire was eating your neighborhood? The remake, sorry to say, is better than the original. The original mixed a little goofy with a little scary, the remake mixes really funny with very scary. More after the jump.
Man I like the looks of this movie. The thing I like best is that it doesn’t look all computer generated and stuff, it looks more “organic” (which is a strange thing for a movie essentially about a robot). I also like how the robot has got a cool steampunk vibe even thought the movie apparently takes place in our near future. More after the jump.
I don’t know if I’ll do many blogs on this theme but the truth is a lot of movies aren’t as good as you remember them. For instance, the cheesy music in Scarface just ruins the repeat viewing experience (for me). However, there are some movies that are too good to remake so you just need to catch ‘em when they show up on cable or even on Netflix.
I tried to find a specific scene from this movie for you, but came up with a funny one instead. This movie goes all the way back to 1969. Yeah, I saw it at the drive-in when I was seven. It had one of the best semi-nude scenes ever,with the lovely Katherine Ross unbuttoning her nightgown and showing double side boob.
I think this is arguably the most anticipated movie of the summer. It is also arguably the most anticipated 3rd movie of a trilogy ever. Of course that’s because anytime you use the disclaimer that something is “arguably” something else, then someone else could “argue” that it is not that thing. That would be the meaning of the word “arguably.”

Who doesn’t love a good ghost story? “The Pact” appears (at least in the trailers) to have the making of a good ghost story. At least it seems like a ghost story with or heroine being thrown all over. Now I put a picture of a scary chick with this story, but the star is hubba hubba hotties Caity Lotz (formerly of the MTV show “Death Valley”). More after the jump.

I know the title of this blog is a little simple, but it’s the truth. I went back and watched Scarface, a movie that is widely revered, not long ago and found it to be very dated. At that time I thought, why doesn’t somebody make a new gangster movie for a new generation? It seems they did and I have the trailer for you on the other side.
Sorry but I apologetically LOVE stoner comedies. I always have. I’m not really a stoner, but I just love the goofy good natured fun of Cheech & Chong, Harold & Kumar, Grandmas Boy and others.
