How do the Irish celebrate St. Patrick's Day? You're about to find out!
This what rocking Irish music sounds like. Out of Quincy Massachusetts, It’s The Dropkick Murphys! The boys combine traditional Irish instruments with a punk sensibility to give you a real Irish “working mans” sound. You’ve heard their music in the movies “Boondock Saints” and their biggest hit “Shipping Off To Boston” was featured in the movie “The Departed”. The ‘Murphs are said to be returning to the recording studio following their annual St Pats shows this weekend. More after the jump.
St. Patrick’s Day is this Saturday. Will you be wearing the green? Will you be drinking “Car Bombs”? Or will you just be wearing a “Kiss Me I’m Irish” button? Let’s hope you don’t wear that button in front of “Gay Leprechaun”! More after the jump.
I went back and got one of my favorite episodes of “My Drunk Kitchen” for you. In it, the adorable Hanna Hart tries to make an apple pie for some holiday she calls “America Day”. I thought it might be good for President’s day as well. Check it out after the jump.
Mardi Gras, which is French for Fat Tuesday, is coming to a close next Tuesday. It’s a season that lasts from January 6th of each year until the day before Lent, and is celebrated by partying like rock stars up until Ash Wednesday
Slayer are offering a thoroughly metallic twist on those popular Valentine’s Day treats known as “conversation hearts” as only Kerry King and co. can. You know ‘em – those pink, white and yellow hard candies with phrases like ‘Be Mine’ or ‘Kiss Me’ etched on them. Well, the Slayer version of said candies are black and red and they come in a jar stamped with the red red Slayer logo. But that’s not even the coolest part. The Slayer hearts boast phrases like ‘Hate,’ ‘Kill’ and ‘Destoy.’ There are even ones with the band’s name imprinted on them. Happy Valentine’s Day indeed.
It’s time to step up boys and girls. How about instead of being coy, you tell us what you’d really like to see on Valentines day. Maybe you’d like a card, flowers, candy or just a nice note? Maybe you’d just like to see somebody naked. It’s up to you, what do you REALLY want for Valentines Day?
More details on the Smokin’ Poll after the jump.
The good news is that it’s never too late to begin your beer can collection. The even better news is that January 24 is Beer Can Appreciation Day, so there’s no excuse not to get going on that collection.
