Longtime music power couple Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani are heading for divorce. TMZ reports that both musicians filed their petitions for divorce simultaneously.

Both Rossdale and Stefani asked for joint custody of their three sons -- Kingston, Zuma and Apollo -- in each of their petitions.

According to TMZ, there was no prenup agreement for the couple, so the 50/50 California community property rule will be used in determining the divorce. The report states that Stefani's is worth an estimated $80 million, while Rossdale's estimated worth is $35 million. Stefani also reportedly sought to deny Rossdale spousal support in her filing.

The couple has issued a statement to People magazine after TMZ broke the news. IT reads as follows: "While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment. To that end, we respectfully request privacy from the media during this time."

Rossdale met Stefani in 1995 when his band Bush was headlining a tour in support of their breakout album Sixteen Stone. No Doubt, who were just about to break big as well, were one of the support acts on the tour, building the buzz for their Tragic Kingdom album. The two rockers wed in 2002.
