Few Texas counties are not under a burn ban at this time.  The threat of wildfire is so severe that these counties are also banning the use of fireworks.  On Monday’s “Rise and Shine” program, Clay County Sheriff Kenny Lemmons said violators would not be ticketed, they’d be arrested.  Officials and landowners alike are taking this very seriously.  And the threat of fire is not just out in the county.  In April, we saw homes destroyed near Sheppard AFB due to a grass fire.  Fireworks can start blazes just as easy in town as they can in the country, especially in this type of weather.  Want to see just how many counties are affected?  Click here for a link to the Texas Forest Service map.
