Brittney Palmer can do magic, not just with her looks, but actual magic. Well, she can tell you how it’s done, thanks to her stint as a magician’s assistant.

These days, Brittney is making a different kind of magic — whether it’s in the ring as a UFC girl, in an art studio or in the pages of Playboy magazine.

Brittney talked to us about her early days in show business, painting naked people and UFC injuries happening right in front of her eyes.

GuySpeed: Your Playboy article says you were a magician’s assistant early in your career. Care to dazzle us with the specifics?

Brittney Palmer: Yeah, right out of high school, I wanted to be in show business. It was my first gig. I was a magician’s assistant out in Vegas and shortly after that I started dancing in a burlesque show.

GuySpeed: Did you learn any tricks?

Brittney Palmer: I’ve got a couple tricks up my sleeve.

GuySpeed: Can you pull coins out of your ear?

Brittney Palmer: I know how to do it, but I’m not very good at it. You’ve got to practice a lot and I don’t really sit around pulling coins out of my ear.

GuySpeed: Does knowing the tricks take the fun out of magic?

Brittney Palmer: Yeah, and everyone always wants to know the secrets. Truthfully, once you know how one trick is done you’ve got a pretty good idea of how they are all done.

GuySpeed: You’re going to art school right now. You’ve painted a lot of nudes according to your Playboy article. Is that what encouraged you to pose naked?

Brittney Palmer: Yeah, I think it got me used to the idea of doing it.

GuySpeed: Do you think it’s easier to pose naked in front of a small group of people or in front of a camera where the end product goes in a magazine and you don’t really see people face to face?

Brittany Palmer: Well, technically, I was doing both. I posed in front of a small group of people but the end result was a spread in Playboy. So it’s really both. There are tons of people on a photo shoot.

GuySpeed: Were you more nervous shooting for Playboy or in the ring for the UFC?

Brittany Palmer: Playboy, definitely.

GuySpeed: Would you be more nervous if you were fighting for the UFC?

Brittney Palmer: Of course! Absolutely.

GuySpeed: You learned tricks as a magician’s assistant so have you learned any fight moves while with the UFC?

Brittney Palmer: Absolutely, I train in Mauy Thai, Jujitsu, boxing and I hit pads all the time. I was just in Brazil for some training.

GuySpeed: Have you ever been so close to something, maybe an injury or a hit, that you were just like “wow, that was nuts.”

Brittney Palmer: Yeah, Pat Berry and Chuck Congo. He broke his arm right on our side of the cage. I was right there.

GuySpeed: Did it phase you?

Brittney Palmer: I was OK with it. It’s an action sport, so there is always that chance.

GuySpeed: So when you’re not in the ring or modeling what do you do with your time?

Brittney Palmer: Well, right now, I’m concentrating on my art. I’m also trying to maintain this awesome wave that I’m on.

GuySpeed: Just to let you know, an actual UFC fight might break out in the office, because we got a free copy of your Playboy issue and about four guys are fighting over it.

Brittney Palmer: You know you can order more issues?

GuySpeed: And stop a potential office fight? Hell no.

Brittney Palmer: Well, good luck.
