Bernice and Floppy – Humane Society Pets of the Week!
When I go away on a trip, my cats seem to know it. While I’m packing my bag they’ll hang out, wander aimlessly from room to room, and cling to me in a way they usually don’t. When I get back from wherever I was, which is typically just a day or two, they might seem aloof and act like they don’t care, but they give me extra attention and I can tell they’re happy to see me. Whoever said as a blanket statement that cats don’t care about their owners must have not owned a cat. Some pets don’t have an owner to look forward to seeing, and that’s where you come in.
The Humane Society shelters pets, gets them the care they need, gives them the love they’re craving, and does their best to place them in permanent homes. Whether you’re looking for a lazy dog who prefers a quiet walk to play, or a cat who chases toys, chances are the Humane Society will have your perfect match.
May I present our pets of the week. If you’d like to see them in person or get more information on these pets or any other pets that the Humane Society has, check them out online here or call 940-855-4941. They’re located at 4360 Old Iowa Park Road in Wichita Falls.
Bernice is a large, female, chocolate colored Retriever/Labrador mix. She’s four-years-old so she knows how to behave like a lady, but she’s still young enough that she likes to have fun and play. She’s very friendly and likes meeting new people, and she does well around other animals. She’s spayed, up-to-date on shots, heartworm tested and on preventative, and microchipped. Bernice is excited to find her forever home and to start her life with you and your family, so stop by to see if she’s the perfect fit for you!
Floppy is a small, female, grey in color tabby cat. She’s a year old, so she has plenty of that kitten energy but she also knows the value of sleeping on a warm lap. She loves exploring new places and finding sweet hiding spots, but she also likes to hang out with people and enjoy a quiet evening. She’s a little shy at first, but she warms up quickly. She’s up-to-date on shots, heartworm tested and on preventative, and microchipped. Floppy can’t wait to see if she’s just right for your home, so swing by and see if you’re destined to be best friends!
