There's a lot of "open air" to go around. With the Chicago Open Air festival announcing its inaugural lineup earlier this year, now it's time for the Houston Open Air festival to make its arrival on the music scene. Organizers Danny Wimmer Presents have revealed that Avenged Sevenfold and Alice in Chains will headline Texas' Biggest Rock Experience, which is set to take place the weekend of Sept. 24 and 25 at NRG Park in Houston.

In addition to the headliners, you'll find such major acts as Deftones, Slayer, Chevelle, The Cult, Ministry, Alter Bridge, Ghost, Anthrax, Pierce the Veil and Of Mice & Men on the bill, making for what should be one rocking weekend.

Plus, Sevendust, Baroness, Hellyeah, Chevy Metal, Buckcherry, Nothing More, the Amity Affliction, Max and Igor Cavalera Return to Roots, Avatar, letlive., Jim Breuer and the Loud & Rowdy, Texas Hippie Coalition, Young Guns, Starset, Sick Puppies, Skindred, Neck Deep, Sons of Texas, Kyng, Twelve Foot Ninja, Gemini Syndrome, The Word Alive, Dinosaur Pile Up, September Mourning have all been confirmed to play, with more acts still expected to be announced.

In addition to three stages of hard rocking music, Houston Open Air will feature the celebrated Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7 Whiskey Row, and a Texas-sized Gourmet Man Food experience underscoring Houston’s emergence as a great American food city.

In light of the recent flooding in the Houston area, a portion of the proceeds from all Houston Open Air tickets sold will benefit the Greater Houston Storm Relief Fund. The Greater Houston Storm Relief Fund was established by Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner to accept flood relief donations that will stay in the Houston community and aid the victims of the recent storms. Early bird ticketing for Houston Open Air will start at 12N CT on Tuesday, May 17, running through 10AM PT on Thursday, May 19. Meanwhile the general admission on sale will start this Friday (May 19) at 12N CT.  Hotel discounting info can be found here.
