‘America’s Most Patriotic Rock Band’ Butchers National Anthem

Madison Rising took a page out of the band from Billy Madison's playbook and basically trolled America with their version of 'The Star Spangled Banner' before Saturday's Nationwide Series race at Daytona. The performance invoked chuckles and puzzled looks from drivers and fans alike.

As a musician, I can appreciate artistic expression. As a veteran, I can't stand horrible renditions of our country's national anthem. And while Madison Rising didn't go all Rosanne Barr and make a mockery of it, there's a reason most people are giving the band grief for their version.

Even though their 'most patriotic rock band' claim can be seen as a gimmick, I'm sure their hearts are in the right place but the fact of the matter is, Madison Rising didn't do themselves any favors last Saturday.
