Altus Police Investigate Deadly Shooting

The small southwest Oklahoma town of Altus is in shock following a murder.

Altus Police were called to the 300 block of North Hudson Street by a 9-1-1 call reporting gunshots in the 300 block of N Hudson at around 12:25 AM.

When officers arrived they found a man lying dead on the street with multiple gunshot wounds. He’d been shot multiple times. Police have released little info on the killing.

"...we just don't have things like that happen in our area. It's just a shock," said Altus native Cheryl Walker who works near where the man was killed.

The identity of the victim has not been released. As of Thursday night, police had not reported any arrest in connection with the shooting.

This is the first homicide in Altus since September of last year.
