Looks like it's time for a new election because no one can run the town. Everyone is in jail.

You may not have heard about the small town of Crystal City located just outside of San Antonio. You will remember this little town now. This town is known as the spinach capital of the world. Woo-hoo, get hyped to come see our city... and spinach. Actually, I would avoid Crystal City if I were you. The town sounds corrupt as hell.

Crystal City's mayor, city manager, mayor pro tempore, one of three current councilmen and a former councilman were all arrested. They're accused of taking bribes from contractors and sending city workers to help an illegal gambling operator. A second councilman is already charged in a separate case with smuggling Mexican immigrants. That leaves just one councilman not facing federal charges in Crystal City.

I have no idea, but does that make the one guy not in jail the new mayor?

"What happened is nothing to celebrate. It's something sad that happened to us," said the remaining councilman, Joel Barajas, on Thursday. "By all means, we need to move forward."

The indictment accuses the town's leadership of using their positions "to enrich themselves by soliciting and accepting payments and other things of value." From what I can find, none of the officials will lose their positions. Good luck trying to get re-elected next time guys.
