Incubus singer Brandon Boyd told members of the media during a recent conference call that the band has no plans after they wrap up the upcoming Honda Civic 2012 Tour with Linkin Park.

While it's not the first time the band has gone on hiatus (they took a break after 2006's Light Grenades), you never know if it's going to be the last so if you haven't bought your tickets for the show at Gexa Energy Pavilion August 27 in Dallas, it might not be a bad idea to go ahead and pick them up - or of course you can win them right here.

Here's what he had to say:

We have no plans, to tell you the truth, at the moment. You know, for the first time since 1996, we are free agents again. We are without a record label. So what we're kind of doing is trying to get our bearings as to what we should do next. I have been tinkering around potentially with a second solo record, but as far as Incubus right now, we'll probably take another break.

Sounds to me like the issue of being without a record label is a convenient reason to take a break from each other or just Incubus in general because if they've only been back together for a couple of years after an extended hiatus either a) some of the guys just don't get along with each other or b) their hearts aren't in it anymore. Clearly this is just speculation on my part but as the old saying goes, "where there's smoke, there's fire".
