2017 Houston Open Air Festival Canceled

The 2017 Houston Open Air Festival will not take place this year. The event was set to take place at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Woodlands, Texas on Oct. 14 and 15, but the recent arrival of Hurricane Harvey has wreaked havoc on the Houston area and organizers have decided to cancel the festival due to the desire to focus on the relief efforts.

Their statement on the matter reads as follows: "Due to unforeseen and ongoing circumstances as well as continuous relief efforts needed to help stabilize Houston and its surrounding areas, we are cancelling Houston Open Air. All tickets purchased online or by phone through Ticketmaster will be refunded automatically. Please allow up to 3 weeks for the refund to be processed. If you purchased directly from the box office, contact the venue directly for refund details at (281) 364-3010."

In addition, organizers have directed those wishing to make donations to help out with Hurricane Harvey relief efforts to this organization.

This year's festival was to feature Five Finger Death Punch and Avenged Sevenfold as headliners. Other top acts on the bill included Prophets of Rage, Stone Sour, Marilyn Manson, Mastodon and Halestorm.
